Recipes
Recipes unlock what a profession can make. Each pattern, plan, design, formula, or recipe teaches one craftable item, and leatherworking and jewelcrafting carry the deepest recipe pools in the catalog.

Recipe prices split by rarity. A common recipe falls to a low floor quickly, because copies drop often for everyone who runs the content that carries it. A rare recipe, from a single boss or a world drop, can hold a high price indefinitely because supply trickles in slowly.
Vendor recipes in the classic editions, and profession books, 2 абзаца
The classic editions sharpen that split with limited-supply vendor recipes that restock on slow timers, so the auction price there is largely the price of not waiting at the vendor. The same pattern can be a contested rarity in one edition and a vendor afterthought in another.
Books sit apart from the profession lists: tomes and manuals that teach abilities or specializations rather than single crafts. Many are world drops with tiny supply, so they go long stretches with no listings at all, then a single posted copy sets the price on its own.
