Battle Pets
Caged battle pets are the auction house's window into pet collecting. A caged companion becomes a tradable item that keeps its level and quality, and it joins one of the most unusual markets in the game.

Über Battle Pets
Pet values equalize between realms far more than gear or commodity prices do. A pet learned on one character is accountwide, and the collection systems reach across realms, so a caged pet is one of the few items whose price compares sensibly with another realm's.
Supply, level, quality, breed, and which editions trade pets, 3 Absätze
Supply routes shape each pet's price. Wild-caught pets can be leveled and caged by anyone, so they sit low and stable. Drop and achievement pets arrive slowly, hold higher floors, and step down as more players earn them. Promotional and event pets behave like holiday items: dormant most of the year, active when their source returns.
Level, quality, and breed set the price within one species. A level-25 rare cage saves the buyer days of leveling and prices accordingly, while a level-1 common of the same species trades near its floor. Two cages at the same level can carry different stat spreads, and collectors pay premiums for the sharper breeds.
The game caps how many of one species an account can hold, which limits hoarding and keeps single-species corners rare. Caged pets trade on Retail, where prices update hourly, and on MoP Classic, where they update daily; the older classic editions have no pet battles.
