Glyphs
Glyphs customize class abilities. Major glyphs adjust how a spell behaves and minor glyphs adjust visuals or convenience. The inscription profession crafts every glyph in the game.

About Glyphs
Glyph prices follow a long tail. A few popular glyphs trade in high volume at modest margins, while dozens of niche glyphs trade rarely and float with whoever posts one. A smooth price history marks a glyph that trades often; a jagged one means listings are sparse and the current price is one seller's opinion.
Glyph supply, edition coverage, and the link to herb prices, 3 paragraphs
Glyph stock is wide rather than deep. Scribes historically learned glyph techniques one random research discovery at a time, so no single seller covers a class's whole book, and coverage varies from scribe to scribe and realm to realm. Warlock and druid carry the largest books in the current data.
The system shipped with Wrath of the Lich King, so TBC Classic and Season of Discovery carry no living glyph market. It is widest on Retail and MoP Classic, and on MoP Classic the daily TradeSkillMaster feed moves glyph prices in daily steps rather than hourly ones.
Every glyph is crafted by scribes from inks, so glyph floors follow the herb and pigment markets that feed inscription, with a short lag.
