Weapons
Weapon listings churn faster than any other gear category: every fresh level cap pushes a wave of outgrown weapons onto the auction house, and every new raid tier resets what the market considers current.

Weapon subclasses behave like separate markets, each tied to the classes that can use it. Daggers concentrate rogue demand, staves split between casters and druids, and polearms lean on hunters and druids. Because few polearms are craftable, a single strong world drop can dominate a realm's polearm listings for weeks.
How ranged weapons trade, and the type only older editions keep, 2 paragraphs
Ranged weapons are their own economy. Hunters buy most bows, guns, and crossbows, and upgrades between raid tiers are scarce enough that mid-level pieces hold a stable floor.
The older editions keep a weapon type later expansions retired: thrown weapons, which still trade in WoW Forever, TBC Classic and Season of Discovery.
