Rated arena is not tracked on this edition, so the combined figure is the raid figure.

How this is measured

These figures count character appearances in raid logs uploaded to Warcraft Logs (opens in a new tab) each weekly raid lockout, split by faction and grouped by connected realm. On editions with rated arenas we add characters from Blizzard's PvP arena leaderboards as well. Each source counts a character once per week and the two are added together, so someone who both raids and plays rated arena is counted in both.

It is a weekly measure of raiding and PvP engagement — a useful proxy for how active a realm is, but not a true census of every player. Realms without uploaded logs in a given week show no data for that week.
