Frequently asked questions

  • What is the WoW Token?

The WoW Token is an in-game item Blizzard introduced so players can trade game time for gold or vice versa. A player buys a Token from the Blizzard shop and lists it on the in-game Auction House; another player buys the listed Token with gold and redeems it for 30 days of game time. The Token price floats based on supply and demand in each region.

  • How is the token price determined?

Blizzard sets the price algorithmically based on the live supply and demand inside each regional auction house. When more players want to buy Tokens with gold, the price rises; when more players list Tokens for sale, the price falls. The algorithm updates the listed price several times an hour, and our tracker captures the live value once per minute.

  • Why does the price differ between US and EU?

US and EU operate as separate token markets with their own player bases, gold supply, and demand patterns. Each region has its own Token auction queue and price curve. A Token bought in the US cannot be sold in the EU and vice versa, so the two prices float independently — sometimes by tens of thousands of gold.

  • Can I trade tokens between regions?

No. Tokens are bound to the region you purchased them in. A US Token can only be listed and redeemed on US realms; an EU Token can only be listed and redeemed on EU realms. There is no cross-region transfer, conversion, or shared market — the two price feeds you see above are fully isolated.

  • What is the historical price range?

Switch the chart above to the 24h, 7-day, or 30-day range to see the recent envelope. Over longer windows the price typically swings between roughly 150,000 and 350,000 gold per Token, though regional events, expansion launches, and patch hotfixes can push the live price well outside that envelope on short timescales.
