Projectiles
Projectiles — arrows for bows and crossbows, bullets for guns — are a preserved piece of classic-era game design. Ammunition was consumed shot by shot, which made this one of the steadiest repeat-purchase markets of its time.

Ammunition is a market that survives only in TBC Classic and Season of Discovery. Later expansions removed consumable ammunition, so Retail and MoP Classic have no living ammunition market, while hunters in the older editions buy it continuously and better projectiles measurably improve damage.
How ammunition was supplied, and how its prices behave
Quality scaled with level in that era: vendors covered the basics, engineer-crafted shells tied the shelf to the ore market, and the best arrows came from limited vendor stock and reputation quartermasters, which kept real scarcity inside an otherwise utilitarian market.
Where ammunition trades, hunters buy it constantly and crafters can make more on demand, so prices hug the material-cost floor, spiking briefly when a raid night outruns crafting. A realm deep into endgame burns more, so one bullet clears at different speeds on differently progressed servers. Stacks are large and margins small, so sellers compete in thousands of rounds.
