Armor

Armor protects every character from the moment they leave the starting zone. The auction house carries cloth, leather, mail, and plate gear across every level bracket, plus shields, rings, trinkets, cloaks, and the rest of the accessory slots.

About Armor

The four armor weights are four separate economies. Cloth is the deepest shelf in the game, because every humanoid boss drops it and three classes wear it, so its price floors are easy to read. Plate splits internally: tanking pieces with defensive stats price above same-level damage plate, because tank demand is steadier.

Who buys each armor type, and how crafted and dropped pieces price, 3 paragraphs

Each weight sells to its own classes: leather to rogues, druids, monks, and demon hunters; mail to hunters, shamans, and evokers; plate to warriors, paladins, and death knights. Shields pair tank-only demand with low supply, and the miscellaneous subclass (rings, trinkets, cloaks, and off-hand pieces) sells to every class, which makes it the most contested accessory market on a realm.

Cosmetic armor adds a fifth lane. Appearance-driven pieces price on their look rather than their stats, so a low-level green with a rare model can outprice current gear.

Crafted and dropped armor move differently. New crafted gear spikes when a patch lands and its recipe is still rare, bind-on-equip greens settle into a low-volatility floor, and rare drops move with the popularity of the dungeon that drops them.
